Good to know about Panay
Panay is located in Western Visayas and is divided into four provinces called Aklan, Antique, Capiz and Iloilo.
Panay is located southeast of Mindoro and northwest of Negros. Between Negros and Panay you can find the independent island province of Guimaras Island situated in the Guimaras straight.

The largest city on Panay is Iloilo counting 424,619 inhabitants in 2010.
The best known place that belongs to Panay, more precise to the province Aklan in the north of the island, is Boracay which is probably also the best known tourist destination of the Philippines. Most of the tourists only go to Boracay; the rest of Panay is pretty quiet regarding tourism.
