Good to know about El Nido
El Nido is a municipality on the island Palawan and is located about 420 kilometers (260 mi) southwest of Manila and about 238 kilometers (148 mi) northeast of Puerto Princesa.

In 2010 El Nido counted 36,191 inhabitants. The municipality consists of 18 barangays.

Even if El Nido itself is pretty crowded and doesn’t have any nice beaches, it is the perfect hop off point for island hopping and also still the cheapest place for trips to the “Bacuit Archipelago” since accommodation on the small islands is really expensive.

For divers but also for people who only snorkel the archipelago has a lot to offer. On the boat you can experience an amazing view of the islets as well as crystal clear water. Once underwater, beautiful corals and plenty of fish will expect you. With more than 30 dive sites both beginners as well as advanced divers will find their perfect place to dive.

If you travel to Palawan, El Nido is definitely a must! Even if crowded in the high season, you should not miss out on the beautiful landscape of the “Bacuit Archipelago”.
