Good to know about Camiguin Island
Camiguin Island is situated only 10km north of Mindanao, the southernmost island of the Philippines.
On the north coast of Camiguin you can see the silhouette of Bohol which is 54km northwest of Camiguin. Camiguin Island is a volcanic island with a total area of 238km².

There are 7 volcanoes, whose eruptions gave the island their actual shape. Several natural wonders and historic treasures make the island an unforgettable experience.

On Camiguin there live 83,807 people (2010), the capital of the small province is Mambajao.
Due to the fact that the island is part of Mindanao, the big island in the south which is troubled all the time, lots of tourists are afraid and skip Camiguin from their travel route. If you still decide to go there, you can expect a quiet, laid back island where you can also have lots of fun and action.

Even if the island is not especially known among divers, you should go for some dives there. Especially around “White Island” or also at “Mantigue Island” it is definitely worth it.
